3. Positioning – corner kick (mandatory) (1)<br />
During a corner kick, <strong>the</strong> referee nearest to <strong>the</strong> place where it is to be taken<br />
takes a position on <strong>the</strong> touch line at a distance <strong>of</strong> approximately 5 m from <strong>the</strong><br />
corner arc. From this position he must check that <strong>the</strong> ball is properly placed<br />
inside <strong>the</strong> corner arc and that <strong>the</strong> defenders have retreated 5 m. The referee<br />
fur<strong>the</strong>st from <strong>the</strong> place where <strong>the</strong> corner kick is to be taken takes a position<br />
behind <strong>the</strong> corner arc in line with <strong>the</strong> goal line. From this position he watches<br />
<strong>the</strong> ball and <strong>the</strong> behaviour <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> players.
