LAW 14 – THE PENALTY KICK<br />
When a penalty kick is taken during <strong>the</strong> normal course <strong>of</strong> play, or time has<br />
been extended at half-time or full time or at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> extra time, if any, to<br />
allow a penalty kick to be taken or retaken, a goal is awarded if, before passing<br />
between <strong>the</strong> goalposts and under <strong>the</strong> crossbar:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> ball touches ei<strong>the</strong>r or both goalposts and/or <strong>the</strong> crossbar and/or <strong>the</strong><br />
goalkeeper<br />
The referees decide when a penalty kick has been <strong>com</strong>pleted.<br />
Infringements and sanctions<br />
If <strong>the</strong> player taking <strong>the</strong> penalty kick does not kick <strong>the</strong> ball forward:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> referees stop play and order <strong>the</strong> match to be restarted with an indirect<br />
free kick to <strong>the</strong> defending team, to be taken from <strong>the</strong> penalty mark<br />
(see Law 13 – Position <strong>of</strong> free kick)<br />
If, while a penalty kick is being taken, <strong>the</strong> ball is kicked by a team-mate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
player who had been previously identifi ed:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> referees stop play, caution him for unsporting behaviour and order <strong>the</strong><br />
match to be restarted with an indirect free kick to <strong>the</strong> defending team, to<br />
be taken from <strong>the</strong> penalty mark (see Law 13 – Position <strong>of</strong> free kick)<br />
If <strong>the</strong> referees give <strong>the</strong> signal for <strong>the</strong> penalty kick to be taken and,<br />
before <strong>the</strong> ball is in play, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> following occurs:<br />
a player <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same team as <strong>the</strong> player taking <strong>the</strong> kick infringes <strong>the</strong> <strong>Futsal</strong><br />
<strong>Laws</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Game</strong>:<br />
• <strong>the</strong> referees allow <strong>the</strong> kick to be taken<br />
• if <strong>the</strong> ball enters <strong>the</strong> goal, <strong>the</strong> kick is retaken<br />
• if <strong>the</strong> ball does not enter <strong>the</strong> goal, <strong>the</strong> referees stop play and order <strong>the</strong><br />
match to be restarted with an indirect free kick to <strong>the</strong> defending team, to<br />
be taken from <strong>the</strong> place where <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fence occurred (see Law 13 – Position<br />
<strong>of</strong> free kick)
