10. Positioning – kicks from <strong>the</strong> second penalty mark (mandatory)<br />

One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> referees is positioned in line with <strong>the</strong> second penalty mark at<br />

an approximate distance <strong>of</strong> 5 m and checks that <strong>the</strong> ball is properly placed,<br />

identifi es <strong>the</strong> kicker and watches <strong>the</strong> players for encroachment while <strong>the</strong> kick is<br />

being taken. He does not order <strong>the</strong> kick to be taken until he has checked that<br />

<strong>the</strong> position <strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> players is correct and is assisted by <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r referee if<br />

necessary. The o<strong>the</strong>r referee must be positioned at <strong>the</strong> intersection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> goal<br />

line and <strong>the</strong> penalty area and checks whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> ball enters <strong>the</strong> goal.<br />
