Delightful off-road r<strong>out</strong>es <strong>in</strong> the north-east. Many are<br />
classified as easy or moderate, which makes them ideal for<br />
explor<strong>in</strong>g with children. Leaflets <strong>and</strong> maps, conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g details<br />
of not just woodl<strong>and</strong> tracks, but also r<strong>out</strong>es <strong>in</strong> <strong>and</strong> around<br />
the City & suburbs of <strong>Aberdeen</strong> are available on a number of<br />
organisations websites below.<br />
There are also a number of very level cycle r<strong>out</strong>es follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />
disused railway l<strong>in</strong>es. These <strong>in</strong>clude the Old Deeside Railway<br />
from Ballater (access at Old Ballater Station) to Aboyne,<br />
<strong>and</strong> from Banchory to <strong>Aberdeen</strong>; with a new section from<br />
Potarch to K<strong>in</strong>card<strong>in</strong>e O’Neil open<strong>in</strong>g mid to late 2010. Also<br />
there is the Buchan l<strong>in</strong>e called the Formart<strong>in</strong>e <strong>and</strong> Buchan<br />
Way which connects Dyce with Ellon <strong>and</strong> Maud, then splits to<br />
Fraserburgh <strong>and</strong> Peterhead.<br />
