Duthie Park <strong>and</strong><br />
David Welch W<strong>in</strong>ter Gardens<br />
Situated on the banks of the River Dee, a park of some 44 acres<br />
consist<strong>in</strong>g of open spaces, ponds, founta<strong>in</strong>s <strong>and</strong> floral displays<br />
<strong>in</strong> all seasons. The park is a mass of crocuses <strong>and</strong> daffodils<br />
<strong>in</strong> spr<strong>in</strong>g followed by roses <strong>in</strong> summer through autumn. You<br />
can climb the “rose mounta<strong>in</strong>” <strong>and</strong> smell the perfume of over<br />
100,000 roses.<br />
The park has play <strong>area</strong>s which are very popular with families. In<br />
addition the park is the start of the Deeside Walkway <strong>and</strong> cycle<br />
path to Banchory. With<strong>in</strong> the park there is the spectacular David<br />
Welch W<strong>in</strong>ter Gardens hold<strong>in</strong>g a wide variety of plant material<br />
<strong>and</strong> collections from all across the globe. The garden also has a<br />
shop <strong>and</strong> a restaurant.<br />
