head. Accused, questi<strong>on</strong>ed by <strong>the</strong> magistrate, admitted<br />

<strong>the</strong> charge and expressed regret, pleading that he<br />

had had words with his young woman, and it had upset<br />

him.<br />

Nei<strong>the</strong>r of <strong>the</strong>se courses appealed to Samuel<br />
