sang mgur to Lhun grub individually. Ten minutes later, <strong>the</strong><br />

females returned all <strong>the</strong> gifts except for <strong>the</strong> kha btags. Phyag<br />

rdor skyid also returned all <strong>the</strong> gifts to Dpal mo mtsho's<br />

family. Lhun grub kept <strong>on</strong>ly kha btags <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> kha ba.<br />

All <strong>the</strong> villagers except for sha nye members left for <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

own homes after this.<br />

EVENING OF THE PARTY DAY<br />

Maternal Relatives Were Welcomed <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Offered Food<br />

Dpal mo mtsho's middle maternal uncle, Pag mo tshe ring,<br />

was ill during <strong>the</strong> time of Dpal mo mtsho's hair changing<br />

cerem<strong>on</strong>y. C<strong>on</strong>sequently, his s<strong>on</strong>, Dngos grub, who currently<br />

lives with Dpal mo mtsho's uncle, represented him as <strong>the</strong> A<br />

zhang zhang bo. At two p.m. <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> party day, thirty-two A<br />

zhang (most from Mes nyag yar ka Village) ga<strong>the</strong>red at<br />

Dngos grub's home <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> five A zhang from Brag dmar nang<br />

Village joined <strong>the</strong>m <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> way to Brag dmar nang Village.<br />

Dngos grub's family offered pork, steamed buns, steamed<br />

stuffed dumplings, <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> tea. After <strong>the</strong> meal, he offered <strong>the</strong>m<br />

three bottles of Yiping Huzhu liquor, ten bottles of Yellow<br />

River beer, <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> three packages of Fur<strong>on</strong>g cigarettes. After<br />

<strong>the</strong>y finished <strong>the</strong> liquor <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> beer, <strong>the</strong>y all dressed in <strong>Tibetan</strong><br />

lambskin robes <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> phrug, except for seven people who<br />
