Song of Solomon

The disciples came to land,
Thus obeying Christ’s command,
For the Master called unto them, “Come and dine”;
There they found their heart’s desire,
Bread and fish upon the fire;
Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.
Soon the Lamb will take His bride
To be ever at His side,
All the host of Heaven
will assembled be;
O ’twill be a glorious sight,
All the saints in spotless white;
And with Jesus they will feast eternally.”

4:8 Lebanon (le-ba'-na; white), refers to a mountain range of Syria. The cedars of Lebanon
symbolized pride (Psa. 29:5-6; Isa. 2:13; 10:34).
4:8 Amana (am-a'-nah; fixed, firmness; a treaty, covenant), refers to the northern mountain ridge
of Antilibanus (Song. of Song 4:8). From here the water of Abana flows.
4:8 Shenir (she'-nur; coat of mail), Senir, refers to the mountain between Amanah and Hermon,
at the northeast of Jordan (Deut. 3:9; Ezek. 27:5).
4:8 Hermon, Mt. (her'-mon; lofty), has three peaks. The summons of the mountain is covered
with snow all year round. The water for the Jordan River has its source on Mt. Hermon.
9 Thou hast ravished [taken away] my heart, my sister, my spouse [bride]; thou
hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.
4:9 Thou hast ravished my heart. Solomon was captivated by the Shulamite maiden. In matchless
grace the attitude of Christ towards the church is one of absolute captivation. Why this
is so is beyond understanding this side of eternity but it is a grand and glorious truth to consider.

Jesus so gracious should be,
Mercy revealing, comforting, healing,
