and we also gave an NFU shopper bag and pen
to each entrant. The competition was followed
by a buffet and whilst we were eating this my
first Welsh Section A was born and after waiting
a while all were able to gaze at the little miracle
in my stable. I could not resist calling him
Longcommon Trec. The lessons with Sarah

Unfortunately the May newsletter had the
previous years copy. However to put the
record straight I should mention the indoor
Champions, Beverley Le Marquand in
particular won three of the championships
Margaret Robinson, Ellen Littlechild, and
junior Josh Baudains the others.
We have had two shows, the Midsummer show
suffered with rain for most of the day, Beverley
won both show championships with her pair of
section A ponies driven to a dogcart.

In May, Central had their annual Drive out
at Glamis Castle when there were twenty-four
turnouts. Richard Lanni brought his elegant
team of Gelderlanders and there were several
pairs also taking part. The weather was kind
which all helped to make it a very special day.
In June there was the Dressage & Cones Day at
Pitscandly with Joyce Simpson as Judge.
DUMFRIES

McBride were a great success and we are
hoping to repeat them in September. A lot
of BDS members came over to the Island
for WEDS Trans Wight Drive in June and
all had a great time the weather was kind to
us and The Sportmans Rest did us proud in
the evenings. There were 29 turnouts and
with landowners’ permission we enjoyed
some spectacular views - why not come next
year? This is not a BDS event but Gail and
myself along with Linda Pike organise it for

11th – Cones evening final Brickfields 7.30pm
pay on night.
Two beach scurries have been held in the
evenings at St Ouen’s bay, also the second
round of the Skilled Driver of the Year, the
courses have been well designed to test the
accuracy of drivers with their ponies resulting
in some cricket scores so much so that in the
Parish Teams event it turned out to be a surprise
win for St Lawrence A team.
The Inter Insular with Guernsey was a
home win for both Senior and Junior Jersey
Teams but all in all it was a day of renewing
