This, the fifth outlet in their chain, will become the Murphy families flagship restaurant and is currently undergoing a £500,000 refit carried out by Elite shop fitters. The national press had a field day when Harry Ramsden’s closed down at the beginning of the year, sensationalising that this was the end of great British fish and chips. How wrong can they be! Issue 2 March/April 2012 We’re also pleased to report that we’ve had excellent response to the announcement about our consumer guide ‘The Official Guide to the UK’s Best Fish & Chip Shops’ which will go to print this summer. The guide will feature all the shops in the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award scheme on the deadline of 30th June 2012. We’re having 100,000 copies printed which we will circulate through the shops in the scheme, Tourist Board offices, local visitor attractions and hotels etc. We do still have a few tickets remaining for this year’s President’s Banquet and Ball on Sunday 29th April in Stratford-Upon-Avon. You’ll find full information on the event and our sponsors inside this issue, and all NFFF members will have also received additional information about the event with their AGM information packs. If you haven’t already ordered your tickets then you need to contact us. This just about leaves me time to welcome our newest Associate members.
