All that happens will result in the Lord having
a bride that is prepared for Him without spot
or blemish.
The Scriptures are clear that great
troubles are coming upon the world at the
end of this age. Even if we believe we will
be raptured before the “great tribulation”
(see Matthew 24:21), which the Lord said
was just “the beginning of birth pangs”
(see Matthew 24:8), it is clear that we must
be prepared for difficulties. Our preparation
for difficulties is to seek first the kingdom,
live in the kingdom, and always represent
the kingdom of God, which is simply to obey
the King.
If we are faithful to this, we do not have
to fear these difficulties whether or not we
believe that we will go through the tribulation.
The kingdom of God cannot be shaken, and
if we have built our lives upon it we cannot
be shaken either. Every difficulty that comes
upon us now is to help build our lives on the
kingdom of God.
For it is time for judgment to
begin with the household of God
(see I Peter 4:17).
When we hear the word “judgment,”
we often equate it with destruction caused
by the Lord’s ultimate wrath. If we read the
Scriptures in the languages in which they were
originally written, we would not feel this way.
