storehouse, which is the church. Even if you
do not agree with where your church leaders
spend it, if you are a part of a local body, that
is where your tithe should go.
I have heard others say that they do not
tithe because everything they have is the
Lord’s. This is another tragic delusion. If
everything they had was truly the Lord’s, they
certainly would be obeying His command to
give the firstfruits. God does not need our
money. The whole world is His. This is for us,
not Him. Our excuses are only hurting us.
Since the church is the storehouse of
God, does that mean that our congregations
should tithe? Yes. First, it is a privilege, not a
punishment. The Lord wants all of His people
to be vessels through which His provision can
flow to meet the needs He wants to meet. If we
do not give, we cut off this flow. If you want
proof that God honors the tithing principle
with churches and ministries as well as with
individuals, check the ones that are always
struggling and those which always seem to
have an abundance.
When we started our congregation we
carelessly forgot to begin tithing from its
income. The church suffered significant losses
until we started to tithe from the church’s
income. Immediately the congregation’s
finances turned around. We could count these
