do not agree with where your church leaders<br />
spend it, if you are a part of a local body, that<br />
is where your ti<strong>the</strong> should go.<br />
I have heard o<strong>the</strong>rs say that <strong>the</strong>y do not<br />
ti<strong>the</strong> because everything <strong>the</strong>y have is <strong>the</strong><br />
Lord’s. This is ano<strong>the</strong>r tragic delusion. If<br />
everything <strong>the</strong>y had was truly <strong>the</strong> Lord’s, <strong>the</strong>y<br />
certainly would be obeying His command to<br />
give <strong>the</strong> firstfruits. God does not need our<br />
money. The whole world is His. This is for us,<br />
not Him. Our excuses are only hurting us.<br />
Since <strong>the</strong> church is <strong>the</strong> storehouse of<br />
God, does that mean that our congregations<br />
should ti<strong>the</strong>? Yes. First, it is a privilege, not a<br />
punishment. The Lord wants all of His people<br />
to be vessels through which His provision can<br />
flow to meet <strong>the</strong> needs He wants to meet. If we<br />
do not give, we cut off this flow. If you want<br />
proof that God honors <strong>the</strong> tithing principle<br />
with churches and ministries as well as with<br />
individuals, check <strong>the</strong> ones that are always<br />
struggling and those which always seem to<br />
have an abundance.<br />
When we started our congregation we<br />
carelessly forgot to begin tithing from its<br />
income. The church suffered significant losses<br />
until we started to ti<strong>the</strong> from <strong>the</strong> church’s<br />
income. Immediately <strong>the</strong> congregation’s<br />
finances turned around. We could count <strong>the</strong>se<br />
