and speaking wickedness.
Here we are promised that if we remove
the yoke of criticism from our midst (which
is portrayed as “the pointing of the finger,
and speaking wickedness”), our light will
break out, our healing will come speedily,
the glory of the Lord will follow us, and He
will answer our prayers. There is possibly
nothing that can so radically change the
church, and the lives of individual believers,
than having the critical spirit removed from
our midst.
The best way to remove it is to have our
criticisms changed into intercession. The
Lord ever lives to intercede, while the devil
lives to accuse. If we would stop siding with
the devil and see people through the Lord’s
eyes, our first response to seeing something
wrong with another person would
not be to accuse them, but to intercede for
them. How quickly would we all be changed
by just this one thing? How much more unity
and therefore more power would there be
in the church? The Lord said that it would
result in light, healing, glory, and answered
prayer. What more do we need?
