NATIVE PLANTS IN SURVEY QUADRATS<br />
Pembroke Park Quadrat<br />
This quadrat is located approximately 30m behind houses on Menzies Road. The<br />
geology is Hawkesbury S<strong>and</strong>stone <strong>and</strong> the soils are shallow <strong>and</strong> s<strong>and</strong>y. There is<br />
evidence <strong>of</strong> fire within the last 5 years. The vegetation is dominated by an Open<br />
Woodl<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> Scribbly gum (Eucalyptus racemosa) <strong>and</strong> Peppermint (E. piperita), with<br />
a localised understory <strong>of</strong> Melaleuca linearifolia <strong>and</strong> Angophora bakeri. This quadrat<br />
is representative <strong>of</strong>, but does not fulfill all requirements for Map Unit 31: S<strong>and</strong>stone<br />
Ridgetop Woodl<strong>and</strong> (Tozer, 2003). It contains 44 native species [43 required] but<br />
only 18 <strong>of</strong> the required 28 positive diagnostic species. Bridal Creeper, Asparagus<br />
asparagoides is a noxious weed within the area <strong>and</strong> rabbits inhabit the area.<br />
