representation of a single metric value. Like the Gauge <strong>and</strong> Thermometer<br />

widgets, this type of widget is designed to display the value of a single metric.<br />

The Cylinder widget is most useful when combined with a selector because<br />

this allows users to choose specific metric values to display in the cylinder.<br />

In the image below, the liquid level in the cylinder represents the amount of<br />

revenue generated (the Revenue metric).<br />

To create <strong>and</strong> add a Cylinder widget to a document<br />

1 In <strong>MicroStrategy</strong> Web, open the document in Design or Editable Mode.<br />

2 From the Insert menu, point to <strong>Widgets</strong>, then Flash, <strong>and</strong> select<br />

Cylinder.<br />

3 Click the location on your document where you want to place the widget.<br />

The Grid/Graph containing the widget is displayed. A small icon at the<br />

bottom right corner of the Grid/Graph identifies the type of widget you<br />

have added to the document.<br />

4 If desired, resize the widget by clicking <strong>and</strong> then dragging its h<strong>and</strong>les.<br />
