What to Format in the Widget How to Format It<br />

Show or hide the value that the gauge<br />

needle is pointing to<br />

1 In Flash Mode or Interactive Mode, right-click the widget<br />

<strong>and</strong> select Properties. The Gauge dialog box opens.<br />

2 Select or clear the Show Data Labels check box to show or<br />

hide the indicated value in the center of the Gauge widget.<br />

For example, if the gauge needle points to $65,000,<br />

“$65,000” is displayed in the center of the gauge.<br />

3 Click OK to save the changes.<br />

Select the series color scheme 1 In Flash Mode or Interactive Mode, right-click the widget<br />

<strong>and</strong> select Properties. The Gauge dialog box opens.<br />

2 Select one of the color schemes from the Default series<br />

colors drop-down list.<br />

3 Click OK to save the changes.<br />

Show or hide the title 1 In Flash Mode or Interactive Mode, right-click the widget<br />

<strong>and</strong> select Properties. The Gauge dialog box opens.<br />

2 Select or clear the Show title check box to show or hide the<br />

title. The title appears at the bottom of the gauge.<br />

3 Click OK to save the changes.<br />

Determine whether or not to apply<br />

formatting inherited from the widget’s<br />

underlying graph report<br />

The following formatting can be<br />

inherited from the underlying graph:<br />

• Font type <strong>and</strong> size<br />

• Background <strong>and</strong> border color of the<br />

widget<br />

• The minimum <strong>and</strong> maximum values<br />

that can be displayed in the widget<br />

• The positioning of the minimum <strong>and</strong><br />

maximum values on the gauge<br />

• The display style <strong>and</strong> color of the<br />

gauge faceplate, gauge border, <strong>and</strong><br />

needle<br />

• Legend formatting, including legend<br />

position, legend background <strong>and</strong><br />

border color, <strong>and</strong> font used to display<br />

items in the legend<br />

1 In Editable Mode, right-click the widget, then point to View<br />

Mode <strong>and</strong> select Graph View.<br />

2 From the Format menu, select Graph. The Format: Graph<br />

dialog box opens.<br />

3 From the Graph type drop-down list, select Gauge.<br />

4 Format the widget’s underlying graph by selecting the<br />

appropriate options in the dialog box. For details on each<br />

option to format the widget’s underlying graph report, click<br />

Help.<br />

5 Click Apply to apply your changes, then click OK to return to<br />

the widget.<br />

6 In Flash Mode or Interactive Mode, right-click the widget<br />

<strong>and</strong> select Properties. The Gauge dialog box opens.<br />

7 Do one of the following:<br />

• To apply formatting from the widget’s underlying graph<br />

report, select the Inherit grid formatting check box.<br />

• To display the widget without inheriting formatting, clear the<br />

Inherit grid formatting check box.<br />

8 Click OK to save the changes.<br />
