represents the amount of revenue generated by each type of book. Any<br />

additional metrics are displayed when a user hovers over a subcategory.<br />

A Data Cloud widget does not need a separate selector to allow a user to<br />

interact with it. However, you can use a Data Cloud widget as a selector. For<br />

an example <strong>and</strong> more information, see Using a Data Cloud widget as a<br />

selector, page 355.<br />

To create <strong>and</strong> add a Data Cloud widget to a document<br />

1 In <strong>MicroStrategy</strong> Web, open the document in Design or Editable Mode.<br />

2 From the Insert menu, point to <strong>Widgets</strong>, then Flash, <strong>and</strong> select Data<br />

Cloud.<br />

3 Click the location on your document where you want to place the widget.<br />

The Grid/Graph containing the widget is displayed. A small icon at the<br />

bottom right corner of the Grid/Graph identifies the type of widget you<br />

have added to the document.<br />

4 If desired, resize the widget by clicking <strong>and</strong> then dragging its h<strong>and</strong>les.<br />

To add objects to the Grid/Graph that contains the widget<br />

5 From the Dataset Objects panel on the left, select objects <strong>and</strong> drag them<br />

on top of the widget, based on the following requirements for this widget:<br />

a Place at least one attribute on the Grid/Graph’s rows.<br />

– The elements of the left-most attribute are displayed in the widget.<br />

For example, if the attribute is Year, a list of years is displayed in<br />

the widget.<br />

– If you include additional attributes to the right of the first<br />

attribute, elements from all of the attributes are combined <strong>and</strong><br />

displayed in the widget. For example, if Year is the first attribute<br />
