PION-ERA 2013<br />
Join the fun at Saskatoon’s Western Development<br />
Museum as we celebrate Saskatchewan’s history at Pion-<br />
Era 2013. This annual event offers a variety of activities for<br />
young and old alike. We’re offering demonstrations, displays<br />
and more fun on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 from<br />
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<br />
Harvest time comes alive during the Saskatchewan<br />
Story of Threshing. This demonstration is featured twice<br />
on Saturday and once on Sunday. See how harvest on the<br />
prairie progressed from human and horse power to gas and<br />
steam-powered machines. In the afternoon, the threshing<br />
show is followed by the Parade of Power in the Pioneer<br />
Circle.<br />
Begin Saturday, July 13, with the Harvest Pancake<br />
Breakfast. Sunday events include the Hymn Sing and<br />
Interdenominational Church Service on Boomtown Street.<br />
Enjoy a scrumptious Sunday Brunch with entertainment for<br />
all ages. Returning this year is the popular Children’s Tent<br />
with ongoing activities and entertainment on Saturday and<br />
Sunday.<br />
Visitors can enjoy horse and wagon rides or send a<br />
telegram in Boomtown. Be sure to visit the Boomtown<br />
Photo Studio for an old-time photo that you will treasure<br />
for years. Chat with our Boomtown interpreters as<br />
they share their stories of long ago or pay a visit to our<br />
Blacksmith Shop to see iron forged into works of art.<br />

VELOCITY PRAIRIE THUNDER<br />
250 NASCAR EVENT<br />
Auto Clearing Motor Speedway is thrilled to<br />
announce the return of the NASCAR Series to<br />
Saskatchewan, hosting the Velocity Prairie Thunder 250<br />
NASCAR event on Wednesday, July 17.<br />
The Velocity Prairie Thunder 250, presented by Bayer<br />
CropScience, will feature top race car drivers and teams.<br />
Your $45 ticket for 2013 will include a second night<br />
of racing on Tuesday, July 16, featuring great local racing,<br />
including the Street Stocks, the Super Late Models and<br />
the Pro Trucks. New this year is the Family Pack<br />
($99 for 2 Adults/2 Children). This is berm seating only.<br />
No reserved seats.<br />
The 2012 event was a huge success, attracting a soldout<br />
crowd! The 2013 competition is sure to ignite even<br />
more excitement, as Canada’s premier stock car racing<br />
series comes to Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.<br />
