Explore river trails of 1885 by canoe<br />

Take a canoeing adventure on the South Saskatchewan River<br />
back to the turbulent 1885 era of Canadian history. Visit the national<br />
historic sites of the North West Resistance where battles raged<br />
between Louis Riel’s followers and the Canadian militia. Hike one of<br />
the Trails of 1885 from the river to General Middleton’s battle camp<br />
at Fish Creek/Tourond’s Coulee. Enjoy the wildlife and valley scenery<br />
en route. At trip’s end, follow the scenic Carlton Trail to the Parks<br />
Canada National Historic Site and learn about the final Battle of<br />
