ON OUR COVER
The starPhoenix and Tourism saskatoon are pleased to present
an original work of art by local artist inger DeCoursey on the
front cover of this edition of Hot Times. The painting, on display
at the Darrell Bell Gallery, depicts the Taste of saskatchewan
Festival in saskatoon.
Inger DeCoursey was born in Camrose, Alberta and received her
Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta in 1956. After
teaching for several years she decided to return to school to study
art. After her studies, Inger stayed
in Saskatoon, and steadily gained
a reputation for her paintings that
depict life in the city. She finds
inspiration in a range of things,
from everyday scenes to the many
festivals that take place throughout
the year. Her work is vibrant and
energetic, beautifully capturing the
moments and spaces that make
each event unique.
Inger continues to live and paint in
Saskatoon. Her work is represented
in the collections of the
Government of Saskatchewan, City
of Saskatoon, Saskatoon Board of
Education and the Saskatoon Club.
