WHO CAN DRIVE A VEMA VEHICLE?
One of the most commonly asked questions by drivers is “who can drive my VEMA
vehicle, besides me?”
Anyone can drive your vehicle as long as:
• The driver has a valid driver’s licence for that type of vehicle and complies with
all conditions specifi ed by the licence, and
• The driver complies with our insurer (Manitoba Public Insurance) and their
policies, is not under the infl uence of drugs or alcohol and complies with the
Highway Traffi c Act, and
• Your organization allows it
Keep in mind that these are VEMA‘s conditions as the registered owner of the
vehicle. Your organization may have its own policy that governs the use of your VEMA
vehicle. It’s a good idea to check with your Vehicle Coordinator if you are unsure of
your organization’s policy.
For employees of the Province of Manitoba, you’ll fi nd the regulations governing
vehicle use, operation and assignment in the Government of Manitoba’s General
Manual of Administration.
