ciples, "Henceforth, I call you friends, for the servant<br />

knoweth not what his master doeth, but I have taught you<br />

all things which I have learned of my Father." (John<br />

15:15.) Therefore, the teacher in the West is on terms<br />

of the most intimate friendship with his pupil and always<br />

ready to answer his questions so far as compatible with<br />

his stage of development.<br />

There are, of course, some very advanced people in the<br />

East, people who are far advanced in the teachings of<br />

their school, but a corresponding stage is usually reached<br />
