Head of the Botany Section<br />
Born in Trento in 1971. M.sc. in Biology (Padua,<br />
1997) M.Phil. in Botanical <strong>di</strong>versity (Rea<strong>di</strong>ng and<br />
Birmingham, 2000). Keeper of the herbarium, cur<strong>at</strong>or<br />
of the museum’s two botanic gardens. his<br />
main research interests are plant conserv<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
biology and seed ecology. since 2001 he is in<br />
charge of the museum’s plant conserv<strong>at</strong>ion projects,<br />
and botanic garden management. he promoted<br />
and developed Trentino seed Bank, now a<br />
member of ensconet, the european n<strong>at</strong>ive seed<br />
conserv<strong>at</strong>ion network, funded by the eu under<br />
FP6 research infrestructures. he contributed to<br />
Plant science Gardens and inquire, two european<br />
educ<strong>at</strong>ion projects funded by the eu under FP6 &<br />
FP 7. science and society. he provides the secretari<strong>at</strong> for RiBes, the italian network of<br />
seed banks. he is the italian deleg<strong>at</strong>e in the european consortium of Botanic Gardens.<br />

Born in sondrio in 1975. M.sc. in n<strong>at</strong>ural sciences<br />
(Pavia, 1999) Ph.d. in Plant ecology (Pavia,<br />
2004), research fellow <strong>at</strong> Pavia university<br />
2004-09. his main research interest lies in plant<br />
popul<strong>at</strong>ion biology of rare and thre<strong>at</strong>ened species,<br />
plant taxonomy (Festuca), conserv<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
biology, ecology of extreme mountain ecosystem<br />
in rel<strong>at</strong>ion to global change, effects on<br />
flora and veget<strong>at</strong>ion in the Alps and in the Appennines,<br />
veget<strong>at</strong>ion ecology. More than 50<br />
papers published on peer reviewed journals<br />
(Basic and Applied Ecology, Biological Conserv<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />
Bio<strong>di</strong>versity and Conserv<strong>at</strong>ion, Journal of Applied Ecology, Ecological<br />
Modelling, Plant Biosystems). he contributed to the eurpean projects GloRiA in<br />
FP5; ensconeT in FP6, and various other projects promoted locally by Region<br />
lombardy, and the Provinces of sondrio and Trento (Ace-sAP, oPenloc).<br />

Born in Rovereto in 1984, since 2009 he<br />
collabor<strong>at</strong>ed with the Museum of science<br />
where he contributed to various conserv<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
projects such as esconeT in FP6 and<br />
Ace-sAP as well as the study of the biology<br />
of alpine endemisms. he surveyed bio<strong>di</strong>versity<br />
rich alpine grasslands and tested their<br />
biomass production to evalu<strong>at</strong>e their use in<br />
the tra<strong>di</strong>tional therapy of phytobalneotherapy.<br />
