of naples. his thesis project was on the neurophysiology<br />

of cephalopods (Loligo vulgaris,<br />

Octopus vulgaris). he received a Ph.d. in life<br />

science of the open university (london) doing<br />

work on speci<strong>at</strong>ion and popul<strong>at</strong>ion genetics<br />

in Ciona intestinalis <strong>at</strong> the zoological st<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

‘A. dohrn ‘of naples. his scientific knowledge<br />

concernes methods of cloning and dnA<br />

sequencing, sequence analysis, construction<br />

of phylogenetic trees by the methods of maximum<br />

likelihood and bayesian analysis, via snP genotyping and gene expression<br />

analysis. in 2009-2010 he was involved in Mds’s projects on adaptive biology of<br />

aqu<strong>at</strong>ic insects, specifically in gene expression analyses and genebank cre<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />

Born in Trento in 1982, she is gradu<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong><br />

the university of Padua in evolutionary Biology<br />

in 2006. in 2009 obtained the Ph.d. in<br />

evolutionary and environmental Biology <strong>at</strong><br />

the university of Modena and Reggio-emilia<br />

in collabor<strong>at</strong>ion with the section of invertebr<strong>at</strong>e<br />

zoology and hydrobiology of the Mds<br />

with a thesis titled “Global clim<strong>at</strong>e changes<br />

and adaptive str<strong>at</strong>egies in two mountain’s<br />

chironomids: Pseudo<strong>di</strong>amesa branickii and<br />

Diamesa cinerella”. since 2008 is focusing on<br />

the effects of environmental stressors such as<br />

temper<strong>at</strong>ure vari<strong>at</strong>ions and presence of pollutants in insects (<strong>di</strong>ptera and coleoptera)<br />

<strong>at</strong> molecular level (gene expression analyses) within several Mds’s<br />

projects, in collabor<strong>at</strong>ion with the centre of integr<strong>at</strong>ive Biology (ciBio) of the<br />

university of Trento. she is co-author of six scientific papers in intern<strong>at</strong>ional<br />

journals.<br />

Born in Genoa in 1981, she was gradu<strong>at</strong>ed <strong>at</strong><br />

the university of Genoa in sciences of n<strong>at</strong>ural<br />

systems (2006). From 2005 to 2007 she<br />

collabor<strong>at</strong>ed with ARPAl (Regional Agency<br />

environment Protection-liguria, italy) and<br />

with <strong>di</strong>fferent parks, to study macrobenthic<br />

communities in Apennine streams and<br />

springs. From 2007 to 2010 carried out her<br />

Ph.d. in n<strong>at</strong>uralistic and environmental sciences<br />

<strong>at</strong> the university of Milan, in collabor<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

with the university Bicocca (Milan) and,<br />
