PAolo PedRini<br />
Head of the Vertebr<strong>at</strong>e Zoology Section<br />
Born in Trento in 1958, he obtained a degree<br />
in n<strong>at</strong>ural sciences, with a post-degree<br />
specializ<strong>at</strong>ion in “n<strong>at</strong>ure conserv<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
and land planning and development”<br />
(university of Pavia) and “Vertebr<strong>at</strong>e management”<br />
(university of Pavia). From 1983<br />
to 1995 he has been working as consultant<br />
for several institution within the Autonomous<br />
Province of Trento (PAT) and for<br />
several n<strong>at</strong>ional universities and research<br />
institutions; he has also been teaching in<br />
high schools. From 1995 is cur<strong>at</strong>or of the<br />
Vertebr<strong>at</strong>e zoology section <strong>at</strong> the Mds, he<br />
has also been the cur<strong>at</strong>or of the environmental<br />
educ<strong>at</strong>ion section of the same museum<br />
until 2001. he has been the supervisor of several degree theses and<br />
the author of over a hundred of scientific public<strong>at</strong>ion, mainly focusing on<br />
bird ecology, <strong>di</strong>stribution and conserv<strong>at</strong>ion. he <strong>at</strong>tended and coor<strong>di</strong>n<strong>at</strong>ed<br />
n<strong>at</strong>ional and intern<strong>at</strong>ional research projects on birds (among which the<br />
projects “Bio<strong>di</strong>VeRsiTÀ”; ReTe nATuRA 2000; PRoGeTTo AlPi) on <strong>di</strong>stribution,<br />
popul<strong>at</strong>ion trend and reproduction and ecology of alpine birds;<br />
he has been the coor<strong>di</strong>n<strong>at</strong>or of the action plan on thre<strong>at</strong>ened species conserv<strong>at</strong>ion,<br />
of the <strong>at</strong>las of local species <strong>di</strong>stribution as well as of the red-list<br />
species assessment (Amphibians, Reptiles, Birds and Mammals).<br />
FRAnco Rizzolli<br />
Research assistant<br />
Born in Trento in 1968, he obtained a degree<br />
in n<strong>at</strong>ural sciences <strong>at</strong> the Padova<br />
university with a <strong>di</strong>ssert<strong>at</strong>ion on hydrobiology.<br />
he works as researcher in ornithology,<br />
with a special focus on monitoring activities<br />
and d<strong>at</strong>abases management aimed<br />
to d<strong>at</strong>a analysis. he collabor<strong>at</strong>es with the<br />
Vertebr<strong>at</strong>e zoology section on researches<br />
on bird migr<strong>at</strong>ion, nesting ecology and<br />
faunal censuses. he work on management<br />
and implement<strong>at</strong>ion of Gis d<strong>at</strong>abases; he<br />
is author of several scientific public<strong>at</strong>ions<br />
published both on n<strong>at</strong>ional and intern<strong>at</strong>ional journals, especially on subjects<br />
dealing with raptors bree<strong>di</strong>ng ecology, bird migr<strong>at</strong>ion and wintering<br />
w<strong>at</strong>er birds. he collabor<strong>at</strong>ed to the realiz<strong>at</strong>ion of technical documents on<br />
land planning and n<strong>at</strong>ure management for the Autonomous Province of<br />
Trento (PAT).<br />
