474 Letter from Sir Francis Leigh of E. Wickham <strong>to</strong> Phineas Pett, 28 April 1641<br />

Governor asking for a continuation of his lease of the parsonage<br />

of E. Wickham and offering <strong>to</strong> take a new lease for the "better<br />

security of the hospital", mentioning the enclosure of arable land<br />

in<strong>to</strong> a park and discussing the payment of rent.<br />

Addressed as follows "<strong>to</strong> his much respected friend Mr. Phineas<br />

Pett one of the Governors of Sir Thomas ISicl Hawkins' Hospital<br />

at Chatham Kent [etc]"<br />
