Probe Description Type a short description of the probe. The description is<br />

used to identify the probe.<br />

Which server should run this probe? Specify the server that will run this probe.<br />

Which servers’ Web configuration should be probed? Choose one:<br />

v All servers in the domain -- The probe reports results<br />

for all servers in the domain.<br />

v Only the following servers -- The probe reports results<br />

for servers that you specify.<br />

Which sever should be used as the guideline server? Specify the name of the server to use as the ″good″<br />

server against which other configuration documents are<br />

verified.<br />

Specifics Choose one according to the probe subtype:<br />

How often should this probe run? Choose one:<br />

v Best Practices -- Choose the configuration settings that<br />

the probe will verify or check.<br />

v Configuration -- Choose the configuration settings that<br />

the probe will verify or check. Specify one guideline<br />

server per Probe document.<br />

v Run multiple times per day -- The probe runs more<br />

than once each day. Causes the ″Defined schedule″<br />

field to display.<br />

v Daily -- The probe runs once each day. Use the ″On<br />

which days should this probe run″ field to specify the<br />

days on which the probe is run.<br />

v Weekly -- The probe runs once each week. Use the<br />

″On which day of the week should this probe run?″<br />

field to specify the day on which the probe is run.<br />

v Monthly -- The probe runs once each month. Use the<br />

″On which day of the month should this probe run″<br />

field to specify when the probe should run.<br />

Defined schedule Specify the number of minutes between each run of the<br />

probe.<br />

Should this probe run twenty-four hours per day, seven<br />

days per week?<br />

Choose one:<br />

v Yes -- The probe runs continuously.<br />

v No -- The probe runs according to the schedule that<br />

you specify. After you choose this option, complete the<br />

″On which days should this probe run?″ field.<br />

On which day of the week should this probe run? Choose the day of the week on which to run the probe.<br />

On which day of the month should this probe run? Enter the day of the month on which to run this probe.<br />

For example, enter 15 to run the probe on the 15th day<br />

probe ending time in the To field.<br />
