From Headquarters comes the report of the successful advance of our right wing in France on Sunday. The operations at Antwerp and in the East are progressing systematically and without fighting. October 6. Forts Kessel and Broechem at Antwerp are silenced. The city of Lierre and the railroad fortification on the Mechlin-Antwerp line taken. At the first assault on the infantry works at Tsingtau the Japanese and British were repulsed with a loss of 2,500 men. German and Austro-Hungarian forces fighting side by side drive back the Russians toward the Vistula at Opatow and Klimantovv. October 7.
