No. I don't th<strong>in</strong>k I'd be mix<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the circles. I mean on the gay scene recreational<br />
<strong>drug</strong>s like ecstasy is quite common but you know even then I don't th<strong>in</strong>k it would<br />
have <strong>in</strong>terested me.<br />

To counter the re<strong>in</strong>forc<strong>in</strong>g of vulnerabilities that young people experience <strong>in</strong> environments<br />
where both sex work <strong>and</strong> <strong>drug</strong> <strong>use</strong> take place, <strong>in</strong>terventions need to break the connections<br />
between these two activities. It is important when design<strong>in</strong>g these <strong>in</strong>terventions that they<br />
contribute to reduc<strong>in</strong>g harm for sex workers <strong>and</strong> their clients. Such <strong>in</strong>terventions could have<br />
the follow<strong>in</strong>g goals:<br />
● to reduce <strong>drug</strong> consumption amongst sex workers <strong>and</strong> their clients;<br />
● to promote sexual safety via safer sex with pay<strong>in</strong>g partners; <strong>and</strong><br />
● to ensure that safer sex practices <strong>and</strong> personal physical safety are not under<br />
m<strong>in</strong>ed by the effects of <strong>drug</strong> <strong>use</strong> or by reduced capacity for physical control.
