In Week 10 at Chicago (11/13), he kicked his 600th career PAT.
Hanson is the eighth player in NFL history with 600 career
PATs.
Hanson extended his streak of fi eld goals made to 22 with his
25-yard fi eld goal in the fi rst quarter <strong>vs</strong>. San Francisco (10/16),
which was the second longest streak of his career and secondlongest
in team history. The streak ended with a missed 52yard
attempt in the second quarter.
Against the Chiefs (9/18), Hanson set an all-time NFL record
by playing in his 297th career game for the Lions, which is the
most games played by one player for one team. He surpassed
Hall of Fame C Bruce Matthews who played 296 games for the
Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.
T JEFF BACKUS
Backus extended his franchise record of consecutive starts to
176. In Week 13 at New Orleans (12/4), he surpassed Lions
Hall of Fame CB Dick LeBeau (171) for the most consecutive
starts in team history.
Backus became the fi rst player in team history to play in every
game in his fi rst 11 seasons in the NFL.
Backus has started every game since he was dra ed in the fi rst
round of the 2001 NFL Dra . He currently holds the mark for
the most consecutive starts among active (off ensive and defensive)
linemen and is currently third among all active players
with 176 straight starts.
Backus now has the seventh-most consecutive starts by a offensive
lineman in the NFL since 1970.
C DOMINIC RAIOLA
Moved his career games with the Lions to 172, the 10th most
in team history.
He has started all 16 games in 9 of his 11 NFL seasons.
DE CLIFF AVRIL
Led team with 11 sacks, the most by a Lions defensive player
since 2001 (11.5, DE James Hall).
Became just the sixth player in the NFL since 1982 (fi rst year
sacks were offi cial) to register 10+ sacks and return both a
fumble recovery and interception for touchdowns in a season.
He is the only Lions player to accomplish this feat.
• Avril is eighth player in team history to return a fumble and
an interception for a touchdown in the same season, joining
DE Sam Williams as the only defensive linemen in team history
to accomplish this feat.
CB CHRIS HOUSTON
Led team with a career-high 5 interceptions for 225 yards and
2 touchdowns and was second with 14 pass defenses.
One of only three players in 2011 with 2 interception returns
for touchdowns.
First Lions player with 2 interception return touchdowns since
LB Reggie Brown in 1997.
225 interception return yards led the NFL and were the fourth
most in team history. Houston tallied the most intercepton return
yards by a Lions defensive player since Hall of Fame CB
Lem Barney (232) in 1967.
