In <strong>the</strong> 1997 meeting, a 32-10 Lions<br />

win at <strong>the</strong> Silverdome, Jason Hanson<br />

55) in a game. Barry Sanders rushed<br />

for 216 yards, including an 80-yarder<br />

for a touchdown. It was Sanders’ fourth<br />

K Jason Hanson connected on a 51-yard<br />

fi eld goal. his 51-yarder set a new NFL<br />

record for 50-yard fi eld goals in a career<br />

(41) and it tied Morten Andersen’s<br />

NFL record for 50-yard fi eld goals in<br />

a <strong>season</strong> (8). Hanson is <strong>the</strong> fi r<strong>st</strong> player<br />

in NFL hi<strong>st</strong>ory to go 8-for-8 on 50-yard<br />

fi eld goals in a single <strong>season</strong>.<br />
