Only Johnson and Minnesota WR Randy Moss (2003) have
ever registered 1,600+ receiving yards and 16+ receiving
touchdowns in a season.
Finished fourth in the NFL with 96 receptions.
Third player in NFL history with 95+ receptions, 1,600+ receiving
yards and 15+ touchdowns. Sixth player in NFL history
(ninth overall) to record 85 receptions, 1,400 yards and 15
touchdowns in a season.
Third player in team history with 16 total touchdowns in
a season and fourth with 15 total touchdowns on the season—also
accomplished by RB Barry Sanders (16 in 1990, 17
in 1991), Billy Sims (16 in 1980 and 1981) and E Cloyce Box
(15 in 1952).
His 95 receptions on the year are the sixth-most in team history
and the most since WR Mike Furrey registered 98 receptions
in 2006
Career game with 11 catches for 244 yards and a touchdown
at Green Bay (1/1/12).
• His 244 receiving yards re-set his career-high established
two weeks prior when he had 214 at Oakland (12/18/11).
His 11 receptions against Green Bay were also a new career
single-game high.
• 244 receiving yards marked the third-highest tally by a Lions
receiver in team history and the most since WR Richard
Johnson had 248 yards <strong>vs</strong>. New Orleans 12/3/89.
• Johnson became only the second player in team history (E
Cloyce Box), and fi rst to do so in the same season, to record
two 200-yard receiving games.
Johnson led all receivers with 658 yards over the fi nal 5
weeks of the regular season. His 658 yards are the third-most
in NFL history (Wes Chandler, 725 in 1982; Patrick Jeff ers, 717
in 1999) by a player in December (Jan.) games.
Closed out season in the fi nal three games with 214 yards and
2 TDs at Oakland (12/18), 102 yards and 1 TD <strong>vs</strong>. San Diego
(12/23) and a career-high 244 yards and 1 TD at Green Bay
(1/1).
He is the fi rst player with two 200-yard receiving games in
a season since Don Maynard in 1968.
His 244 and 214-yard eff orts were the highest and third highest
in 2011 by any receiver in the NFL.
He had 4 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown <strong>vs</strong>. the
Chargers (12/24) in Week 16. The 102-yard eff ort was his 20th
career game with 100 receiving yards. He is the second player
in team history to record 20 100-yard receiving games joining
WR Herman Moore, who collected 35 games with 100 receiving
yards.
Johnson registered 214 yards on 9 catches and 2 touchdowns
at Oakland (12/18), including the game-winner with 0:39 le
to play.
• Now has 9 career games with 2+ touchdowns, which tied
Moore for most in team history. It was his fi h game in 2011
with 2+ receiving TD.
By catching 12 touchdown passes in three of his fi rst fi ve NFL
seasons, Johnson joins Hall of Famers WR Lance Alworth and
Jerry Rice as the only players in NFL history with 12+ TD
catches three times in their fi rst fi ve seasons.
• 10th player in NFL history to record 12 touchdown receptions
in three diff erent seasons.
By catching his 10th touchdown of the season <strong>vs</strong>. Atlanta
(Game 7), he became the sixth player in NFL history with 10
touchdown receptions through the fi rst 7 games of the season
and fi rst since WR Randy Moss had 10 through 7 games for
New England in 2007.
Johnson fi nished with 8 catches for 96 yards and 2 TDs in the
Lions come-from-behind win at Dallas (10/2). Five of his receptions
were in the fourth quarter.
• He joined Vikings WR Cris Carter (1995) as the only receivers
in NFL history to record 2 touchdown catches in fourstraight
games.
