In the pediatric age group, the LSSS also showed a significant improvement from the initial visit to the last follow-up in<br />

patients treated with medications alone (reduction in mean LSSS from 36.4 (± 2.6 s.e. of the mean) to 21.5 (± 2.6 s.e.)<br />

(P < 0.0001)). N = the number of patients with greater than three months of follow-up. Mean duration of follow-up was<br />

6.8 months.<br />

Pediatric patients also saw a reduction in seizure frequency: 61 percent of the patients seen from 2009 through <strong>2010</strong> had<br />

a 50 percent or greater reduction in seizure frequency. N = 120 patients with mean duration of follow-up of 5.3 months.<br />

Forty-four percent became completely seizure-free at six months of follow-up after their initial visit.<br />
