List of Milestones
Milestones are control points where decisions are needed with regard to the next stage of the project. For
example, a milestone may occur when a major result has been achieved, if its successful attainment is a
required for the next phase of work. Another example would be a point when the consortium must decide
which of several technologies to adopt for further development.
We detected the following milestones for our project:
Milestone Milestone name Workpackag Expected
number
e(s) involved date 10
Means of verification 11
M1 Learning and inference 1 18 Software package on inference for
with iHMMs
imprecise HMMs released and
validated on synthetic data
M2 Learning and inference 1 30 Software package on imprecise
with general imprecise
graphical models
MRFs and BNs tested on real data
M3 Dissimilarity measures 2 18 Software implementation released
b/w generative models
and validated on datasets
M4 Classification of 2 30 Software implementation released
imprecise/precise
generative models
and validated on datasets
M5 Learning of
3 18 Software implementation released
discriminative action
parts via MIL
and validated on datasets
M6 Learning and
3 30 Software implementation released
classification of
structured discriminative
models
and validated on all datasets
M7 Dataset generation 4 12 Proprietary testbeds in multiple
modalities acquired and released to
the consortium
M8 Feature selection and 4 18 Software implementation released
extraction
and validated on all datasets
M9 All purpose action 5 36 Integrated prototype assembled,
recognition framework
validated and ready
M10 Validation in all 5 30 Prototype tested and validated on
scenarios
all available datasets, state-of-theart
results obtained
Their detailed description is given in Section 1.3.4. Their location within the project is shown in the PERT
diagram of Section (iv), in terms of both duration in months and dependencies from the individual tasks the
five research work packages are broken into.
10 Measured in months from the project start date (month 1).
11 Show how you will confirm that the milestone has been attained. Refer to indicators if appropriate. For example: a
laboratory prototype completed and running flawlessly; software released and validated by a user group; field survey
complete and data quality validated.
