It’s a given that you can catch the biggest names in dance at the island’s legendary clubs, but Ibiza
is also cultivating more of an outdoor festival vibe. First timers should try Ibiza123 Rocktronic
(ibiza123festival.com). The three-day festival from 26 July combines legendary rock musicians –
Elton John, Sting and Lenny Kravitz played last year – with credible dance acts. Music aficionados
with links to the dance industry will be keen to visit The International Music Summit (IMS),
which is held in the five-star Ibiza Gran Hotel neat Ibiza Town (thomascook.com). The IMS
(from 22-24 May, internationalmusicsummit.com) is a conference presented by the island’s
long-standing resident DJ, Pete Tong, giving club owners, DJs and anyone with a keen interest
in nightlife a chance to meet up and attend seminars, debates and – naturally – parties. Or you
may want to try something more leftfield? Solar (solarweekend.com/en), a Dutch art, music and
theatre festival is coming to Ibiza from 10-17 September for a week of cultural camping. The former
bungalow park Punta Arabi Resort in the northeast will host art and relaxation events for 800
attendees, escalating to a finale on the Sunday, when a beach party ends the festivities with a bang.
