Anchorage Museum
Expansion
wins landscape
award
The Anchorage Museum Expansion
has received a merit award
from the Washington Chapter of
the American Society of Landscape
Architects. Projects were awarded
on the quality of design, analysis,
planning and research; functionality;
context and environmental
stewardship; presentation; and relevance
to the profession, the public
and the environment.
The landscape design has been a
collaborative effort between Charles
Anderson Landscape Architecture
of Seattle and Earthscape Inc. of
Anchorage. The installation is due
to be completed in 2009.
Alcan General Inc. leads the
project as the general contractor.
Fairbanks
scholarship
winner announced
Congratulations to our Fairbanks
AGC original endowment winner,
UAF Engineering student Jacob
Horazdovsky, who received AGC’s
2008 scholarship. He is the vice
president of the AGC/UAF Student
chapter and is active in design and
construction of the ICE ARCH as
well as the Steel Bridge competitions
supported by the local AGC of
Alaska, Fairbanks chapter.
