VI PREFACE.
Haller Tracy, the distinguished Statesman of Buffalo ; and of
Charles Johnson McCurdy of Lyme, Minister to Austria and Judge
of the Superior Court of Conn. But he did not succeed in ob-
taining the likeness of any of these.
He now submits the work to those for whose use and informa-
tion it has been prepared ; expecting no remuneration for his labor
and expenses, except the pleasure he has derived by becoming ac-
quainted with so many of his kindred, and that which he hopes
hereafter to receive from their approval of the Hyde Genealogy.
He takes this occasion to acknowledge his especial indebtedness
to several individuals, who have greatly aided him in obtaining
materials for the work.
