Benjamin Hyde (48) was a saddler, and settled at Lyme,
where his wife died.
His children hy her toere :
323. Alexander, b. 6 Aug., 1744, at Lyme. He m. Mary Burnham
and settled at Lyme, where he died s. p. He was ahsent
at sea some twenty years.
324. William Rufus, bap. 2 Sept., 1750, at Lyme, m. Elizabeth
Sterling.t

326. Lee, born at Lyme.
327. Amelia, b. 11 Dec, 1740, d. 6 Jan., 1742.
328. Amelia 2d, b. 11 Oct., 1742, at Lyme, died there at an advanced
age unm.
329. Elizabeth, born at Lyme. She m. Nathan Avery of Canaan,
and had several children. One of their sons was Dr. Avery,
a druggist, who formerly resided at Albany.
330. Phebe, born at Lyme.
331-8. Pamelia and seven others, who died in infancy.
After the death of his first wife, he m. about 1753, the
widow Abigail Chadwick, daughter of Lewis De Wolf of
Lyme. She died at Lyme.
His child li/ her was :
339. Abigail, b- July, 1769, at Lyme, m. Samuel Carrier.t
He then married Elizabeth (Miner) Lord, widow of
Elijah Lord, and daught^er of the Rev. William Miner of
Lyme. He died at Lyme in 1781. She survived him,
and died there in 1803. [She was a descendant of Thomas
Miner the first of Stoniugton, who came from Chew
Magna in Somersetshire, about 1632, and m. 1634, Grace
Palmer.]
