1755. She survived him, and d. 1 March, 1797, aged 100
years.

TV. Elizabeth Hyde (29), bap. at Lebanon, Conn., 12
Dec, 1703, the second daughter of Samuel Hyde (4) and
Elizabeth Calkins, was a granddaughter of Samuel Hyde
(2) the first, and Jane Lee, of Norwich. She m. 16 Jan.,
1723, the Rev. Timothy Collins, the first minister of
Litchfield, Conn., b. 13 April, 1699, at Guilford, Conn.,
the third son of John Collins and Anne Leete (a granddaughter
of Gov. William Leete), of Guilford.
[This John Collins was a grandson of the John Collins
of Boston, whose wife's name was Susanna, and who came,
with her and his son John from England in 1644, and d.
29 March, 1670. His son John married and removed to
Middletown, Saybrook and Branford, where his first wife
died in 1668. He had by her two sons : John, b. 1665,
m. Anne Leete ; and Robert, b. 1667. Their father died
in 1704 at Guilford. The second wife of John Collins the
first of Guilford, was Mary (Stevens) Kingsnorth, the
widow of Henry Kingsnorth of Guilford. She married
John Collins the first of Guilford 2 June, 1660. His eldest
son, John Collins, was born at Branford in June, 1665.
He had two other children: Robert Collins, who settled
at Minden; and Mary, who m. 29 June, 1681, Deacon
l:>[athaniel Chapman of Saybrook. John Collins the second
of Sa^^brook m. 23 July, 1691, Anne Leete, b. 5 Aug.,
1671, at Guilford, eldest daughter of John Leete and Mary
Chittenden of Guilford, son of Gov. "W illiam Leete. They
settled in Guilford, where she d. 2 Nov., 1724. He sur-
vived her, and d. 24 Jan., 1751. They had twelve children
