first cousin Mary H3^de (55), eldest daughter of Thomas
Hyde (7) of the third generation. He d. 18 March, 1792.
She d. 11 March, 1839, at Paris, N. Y.

IV. Experience Hyde (37), born at Norwich, Conn., 7
Sept., 1700, the eldest daughter of John Hyde (5) and
Experience Abel, was a granddaughter of Samuel Hyde
(2) the first, and Jane Lee, of Norwich. She m. 12 Jan.,
1720, Samuel Gifi"ord, b. 23 Sept., 1694, at Windham, son
of Samuel Giftord and Mary Calkin his wife of Windham,
and afterwards of Norwich, (and grandson of Stephen
Giftord the first of Norwich and his first wife, Hannah
Gove, to whom he was m. May, 1667, and who d. 24 Jan.,
1670.) They settled at Norwich, where she probably died.
But the date of her death has not been ascertained. He
d. 30 Sept., 1753, at Norwich.
