30 FOURTH GENERATION.<br />

Bradley <strong>of</strong> Boston, and had one child, that died an infant. He<br />

was drowned in Boston Harbor, in attempting to swim from his<br />

wrecked vessel, Feb. 17, 1837, aged 33. Newell, now residing<br />

in Boston, unmarried ; Mary L. married John McLeod, merchant<br />

<strong>of</strong> Quebec, and has three children; Charles, who was<br />

bred a merchant, and died at Q,uincy, May 12, 1829, aged 20.<br />

<strong>The</strong> MOTHER died in 1815, and <strong>the</strong> FATHER in Dec. 1839. His<br />

2d wife was NANCY PHILLIPS, by whom he had Herbert, Josiah,<br />

Charles, Laura, and Francis. He was bred a physician, and<br />

practised at Ellsworth, Me. 4. NABBY, Jan. 1780, married her<br />

mo<strong>the</strong>r's cousin, LUKE BIXBY, who was also her fa<strong>the</strong>r's 2d cousin,<br />

and had Nabby Adams Martha, who married Winthrop E.<br />

Faulkner, Esq. <strong>of</strong> Acton, and has six children. <strong>The</strong> PARENTS<br />

both died in 1808, on <strong>the</strong>. same day, leaving <strong>the</strong> infant daughter<br />

with her grandparents, at Acton. Mr. Bixby was a Merchant.<br />

5. JOSIAH, 3 Nov. 1781, (Harv. Univ. 1801), Lawyer in Fram.<br />

He married JANE PARK <strong>of</strong> Windham, N. H., sister <strong>of</strong> Dr. John<br />

Park, who married his sister Louisa. No children. 6. JOSEPH,<br />

25 Sept. 1783, (Harv. Univ. 1803), Lawyer at West Cambridge,<br />

where he died 10 June, 1814. He married ALMIRA FISKE,<br />

daughter <strong>of</strong> Rev. Thaddeus Fiske <strong>of</strong> that place, (Harv. Univ.<br />

1785). No children. 7. CLARISSA, 13 July, 1785, married Caleb<br />

Hersey, <strong>of</strong> Hingham, in Nov. 1843. Mrs. ADAMS died 7 Dec.<br />

1812, aged 63.<br />

LUTHER STONE 4<br />

, bro<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> above, clothier, lived in<br />

Fram., Newton, Southboro, Fitz William, and Fitchburg, where he<br />

and his wife died in 1837, aged 84 and 79. He married MARY<br />

TROWBRIDGE, daughter <strong>of</strong> Col. John T. <strong>of</strong> Fram., and had<br />

nine children 1.<br />

BERT TAYLOR, <strong>of</strong> Southboro', in 1801, who died in 1805, leaving<br />

Josiah F., and Sylvia. <strong>The</strong> first, living near Bangor, has been<br />

married twica, and has three children Sylvia married Franklin<br />

Nourse <strong>of</strong> Shrewsbury, now a grocer in New York, with three<br />

children. SHE next married HEMAN PARKER <strong>of</strong> Southboro', who<br />

died leaving an infant, Gilbert T., who, about 1833, began trade at<br />

Alexandria, near New Orleans. <strong>The</strong> mo<strong>the</strong>r died in 1817.<br />

2. NANCY, 29 May, 1781, married MAJ. JOSIAH FLINT <strong>of</strong> Shrewsbury,<br />

and died in 1816, having \\adfive children, <strong>of</strong> whom Mary<br />

and Nancy only are living. <strong>The</strong> first married Eli Walcot <strong>of</strong><br />

S., and has only one child living. Nancy married Joseph W.<br />

Mason <strong>of</strong> S., and has no children. 3. MARTHA, married JAMES<br />

FAREWELL <strong>of</strong> Fitchburg, and has <strong>The</strong>odore A. and Caroline<br />

Frances. <strong>The</strong> is<br />

first married arid lives in Cleaveland, Ohio.<br />

<strong>The</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r married Thomas Caldwell, and lives at Acron, Ohio.<br />

4. MARY, married MAJ. JOSIAH FLINT (above), and has Lydia<br />

Maria, Laura, and Jane. 5. THEODORE, 20 July, 1788, now
