He was the master of his Trade<br />

The Windowes of the eyes of Cats,<br />

And for the Roofe, instead of Slats,<br />

Is couer'd with the skinns of Batts,<br />

To Mab their Soueraigne euer deare:<br />

Her special1 Maydes of Honour;<br />

Tick, and Quick, and Iill, and Iin,<br />

Tit, and Nit, and Wap, and Win,<br />

The Trayne that wayte vpon her.<br />

Vpon a Grashopper they got,<br />

And what with Amble, and with Trot,<br />

For hedge nor ditch they spared not,<br />

But after her they hie them.<br />

A Cobweb ouer them they throw,<br />

To shield the winde if it should blowe,<br />

Themselues they wisely could bestowe,<br />

Lest any should espie them.ls6<br />

The acorn cup for each fairy, provided as a hiding<br />

place in A Midsummer Night's Dream, is replaced by<br />

one hazel nut, '' In th' end of which a hole was cut,"<br />

in which the entire retinue of the queen, and Mab her-<br />

self, are comfortably housed:<br />
