In 161 8 the fairies were referred to as blue. '' . . .<br />

tell me how thou are us'd amongst ye faries, those little<br />

ringleaders, those white and blew faries " -Bob, the<br />

Buttrie Spirit, asked of Robin Goodfellow in A Masque<br />
