Graveside services were held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at <strong>the</strong> Wilson Cemetery,<br />

Floyd, with Dr. Harry Y. Gamble officiat<strong>in</strong>g. Wood Funeral Home handled<br />

arrangements.<br />

HARRY E. HARMAN<br />

FLOYD-Harry E. Harman, 84, passed away Friday, April 7 at Skyl<strong>in</strong>e Nurs<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Home. A lifelong resident of Willis <strong>in</strong> Floyd County, Harry was <strong>the</strong> son of <strong>the</strong> late<br />

Mart<strong>in</strong> and Cordelia Weddle Harman. Eight bro<strong>the</strong>rs and sisters also preceded<br />

him <strong>in</strong> death. Harry met his wife of 56 years, Helen W. Harman, at Ft. Myers<br />

while <strong>the</strong>y both served <strong>the</strong>ir country dur<strong>in</strong>g WWII. Harry served as a medic <strong>in</strong><br />

combat <strong>in</strong> German. He was retired from <strong>the</strong> Radford Arsenal and a member of <strong>the</strong><br />

Burks Fork Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by: a<br />

sister, Mary Lee Hodges of Willis, and a bro<strong>the</strong>r and sister-<strong>in</strong>-law, Fred and<br />

M<strong>in</strong>nie Harman of Floyd. Several nieces and nephews also survive, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g his<br />

niece and caretaker, Hilda Dickerson of Willis. Harry’s good nature and wonderful<br />

sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The funeral was<br />

Sunday, April 9, at 2 p.m. <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with <strong>the</strong> Reverend<br />

Roy Turp<strong>in</strong> officiat<strong>in</strong>g. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery <strong>in</strong> Willis. Graveside<br />

services by Hillsville V.F.W. Post #1115.<br />

SENORA HARMON CALDWELL KEITH<br />

CHRISTIANSBURG-Senora Harmon Caldwell Keith age 87, formerly of Floyd,<br />

passed away at <strong>the</strong> Carilion New River Valley Medical Center on Sunday even<strong>in</strong>g<br />

April 9, 2000. The daughter of <strong>the</strong> late Edgar and Mary Harmon, Mrs. Keith was<br />

preceded <strong>in</strong> death by her husbands Thornton William Caldwell <strong>in</strong> 1965 and Lonnie<br />

Jackson Keith <strong>in</strong> 1988 and also an <strong>in</strong>fant daughter. Her love of children and family<br />

was parmount <strong>in</strong> her life. She has served as an <strong>in</strong>spiration to her family and<br />

friends throughout her life. She taught second grade at <strong>the</strong> Indian Valley<br />

Elementary School for many years before becom<strong>in</strong>g director of <strong>the</strong> Floyd Head<br />

Start Program. She will be missed more than words can say by her family:<br />

daughters and husbands, Mary and Albert Huff, Christiansburg, Mildred Weddle,<br />

Roanoke and Sandra and Pat Cupp, Blacksburg; sons and wives, Joseph and<br />

Alice Caldwell, Indian Valley, Robert and Susan Keith, Kenilworth, IL.,<br />

grandchildren and <strong>the</strong>ir spouses, Shannon H. and Alan Sherman, Christiansburg,<br />

Ronda Caldwell, Radford, Jennifer C. and Lee Ferguson, Christiansburg, Jimmy<br />

and Sharlene Caldwell, Indian Valley, Senora C. and Paul Faulkner, Floyd, David<br />

and Evelyn Weddle, Blacksburg, Amy W. and Nate Emhoff, New York, Page<br />

Keith, Just<strong>in</strong> Keith, David Keith, John Keith all of Kenilworth, IL., Candice C. and<br />

John Harris, Christiansburg; great-grandchildren, Jack and Cord Sherman, Khalil<br />

Caldwell, Dust<strong>in</strong> and Sandra Faulkner, Rachel and James Caldwell and Hea<strong>the</strong>r,<br />

Hannah and Hunter Harris; sister, Paul<strong>in</strong>e Weeks, Richmond; bro<strong>the</strong>rs and wives,<br />

Fredrick and Stanley Bea Harmon, Roanoke, Marv<strong>in</strong> and Ruth Harmon,<br />

Christiansburg, James and Hilda Harmon, Floyd; sisters-<strong>in</strong>-law, Elva Caldwell,<br />

R<strong>in</strong>er, Ellen Keith, Willis; two special friends, Mary Beasley and Peggy Woods<br />

both of Christiansburg. Many special nieces, nephews, cous<strong>in</strong>s and friends. The<br />

family wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Kelly and Dr. A. Uzair Wytte for <strong>the</strong> wonderful<br />

care and compassion shown Mrs. Keith. Memorials may be made to <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Indian Valley School, 4130 Indian Valley Road, Radford, VA 24141. Funeral<br />
