NOEL F. CONNER
ROANOKE-Elder Noel F. Conner, 87, passed away Friday, September 24, 1999 at his home. He was preceeded in
death by a daughter, Dianne C. Mitchell, two brothers, Earl Conner and Shelton Conner and a sister, Lula
Anderson. He was pastor of Countyline Primitive Baptist Church in Floyd, and a retiree of United States Steel
Company with twenty-five years of service. Surviving are his wife, Nellie H. Conner of Roanoke; two daughters,
Sonora Jean Conner of Roanoke and Arlene and her husband Russell Blevins of Goodview; two grandsons, James
Noel Blevins and Anthony Ray Blevins and wife Patricia all of Montvale; two great-grandsons, Christian Conner
Blevins and Noah Nathaniel Blevins; two brothers, Aaron Conner of Roanoke, Calvin Conner and wife, Doris of
Salem; a sister-in-law, Ida Conner of Portsmouth. Funeral services were Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral
Home in Floyd with Elders Lane Carter, Larry Hollandsworth and Junior Conner officiating. Interment was in
Countyline Church Cemetery.

WILLIS-Clarence Lester Radford, age 30, passed away at his home Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999. Surviving are: his
father, Jimmy L. Radford, Canton NC; mother, Novella Lawson, Ararat; grandmother, Elsie Radford, Floyd; three
sisters, Cynthia Ramous, Mt. Airy, NC, Barbara Davis, Mt. Airy, NC; Teresa Radford, Roanoke, Linda Sue
Radford, Powhatan; brother, Mark Lawson, Ararat. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26 at 2:00 p.m. at
Gardner Funeral Home with Rev. S.G. Bolt officiating. Interment followed in Williams Cemetery.

a daughter-in-law, John W. Rierson of Abingdon, Frank W. Jr. and Eve Rierson of Check, a daughter and son-inlaw,
Bertha and Alan R. Stanley of Copper Hill; two grandchildren, Dustin and Kelly Stanley; brothers and sisters,
Greenberry Akers, Noah Akers and Henry Akers all of Floyd and Russell Akers of Willis; three sisters, Robertine
Clemmons of Floyd, Mary Akers of Hillsville and Linda Duncan of Christiansburg. Funeral services were Saturday
at 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd with Elder W.T. Conner officiating. Interment in Salem Church
(Head of the River) Cemetery. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home.

NANCY DILLON HARMAN
FLOYD-Nancy Dillon Harman, 90, passed away Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, in an Alexandria hospital. She was
predeceased by her husband, Elliot A. Harman. She was a member of Falling Branch United Methodist Church,
member of the Floyd Courthouse Chapter, D.A.R. and an early member of the Floyd Home
Demonstration Club. Surviving are: two daughters and their husbands, Elnora and Robert Markle of Alexandria,
Evelyn and Chester Janney of Floyd; two sons and their wives, Austin and Gaye Harman of Floyd, Harry and Hazel
Harman of Boones Mill; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harman Dillon of
Greensboro, N.C., Pershing Dillon of Hartwood, Clyde Dillon of Martinsille, Jabe Dillon of Floyd, Alton Dillon of
Newcastle; a sister, Treva Harman of Floyd. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Wednesday at
11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home with Reverend Lawrence Nuckolls officiating.Interment in the Howell
Cemetery.
