Homework Support

support will run on a
Tuesday between
3.40 & 4.40pm
instead of a
Wednesday
School Dances/Events Policy
Park Mains High School has a long
established policy in relation to school
dances. Following last year’s dances
this policy has been reviewed and the
main points of the revised policy are
shown below:
The dances are not only pleasurable
events in themselves but are part of
the personal and social development
programme and the PE curriculum.
Consequently pupils who do not
take part in social dancing will not
normally be permitted to attend the
dances.
In addition pupils who frequently do
not take part in physical education
will not normally be permitted to
attend. Please note this includes
pupils who do not take part because
they have chosen to have piercings,
which preclude their participation.
There is an expectation that pupils
will dress smartly for the dance.
Blue denim, T-shirts and “trainers”
will not normally be permitted.
Communication with the School
Pupils whose attendance is less
than 85% will not normally be
admitted.
Persistent latecomers will not
normally be admitted.
Pupils absent on the day of the
dance will not normally be
admitted.
Pupils who are excluded or who
have been involved in a serious
incident on the day of the dance
will not be admitted.
Pupils who have persistently poor
records of behaviour will be
excluded from attendance.
The Head Teacher’s and/or his
representative’s decisions on
matters pertaining to dances will be
final.
I have enclosed a flyer that can be put in a convenient place at home giving
details of key people to contact if you have any concerns regarding any aspect
of your child’s education. I would actively encourage you to contact the school
to discus any situation about which you are unhappy prior to phoning
Renfrewshire Council. The council’s procedures are to contact the school to see
what steps have been taken in resolving the situation. The vast majority of
complaints can be dealt with & resolved at school level.
I would like to thank all parents/ guardians for their continued support in
ensuring pupils attend, are on time, wear the correct dress code, complete
homework & are committed to doing their best at school. I wish you & your
family a very happy Christmas & a restful break.
