1. Opening remarks, welcome and apologies
The meeting was opened at 7.00pm. In the absence of the Chair Mr Dewar welcomed those
in attendance. Apologies were relayed to the meeting.
2. Minutes of last meeting
Minutes approved.
3. Update on New Build
Mr Gray (BSM) presented an overview of the new school and the council had the
opportunity to view the accompanying plans. The council raised the issue of pupil access to
the existing school during the building process.
4. Head Teacher Report
Mr Dewar presented the proposed curriculum map for session 2010-2011. Members raised
concerns about the reduced teacher contact time for pupils pursuing Advanced Highers. In
discussion this concern was balanced against the desire for pupils to develop greater
independent study skills in preparation for University.
5. Parents Evenings
It was agreed that Parents / Guardians should be surveyed about the format of Parents
Evenings for session 2010-2011.
6. Pupil Representatives
With both pupil representatives unable to attend, no issues were raised.
7. Fundraising
It was agreed that the proceeds of the Christmas bag-packing event at the local supermarket
would be split between the school fund and those pupils raising money for the Malawi trip.
