1. Opening remarks, welcome and apologies<br />

The meeting was opened at 7.00pm. In the absence of the Chair Mr Dewar welcomed those<br />

in attendance. Apologies were relayed to the meeting.<br />

2. Minutes of last meeting<br />

Minutes approved.<br />

3. Update on New Build<br />

Mr Gray (BSM) presented an overview of the new school and the council had the<br />

opportunity to view the accompanying plans. The council raised the issue of pupil access to<br />

the existing school during the building process.<br />

4. Head Teacher Report<br />

Mr Dewar presented the proposed curriculum map for session 2010-2011. Members raised<br />

concerns about the reduced teacher contact time for pupils pursuing Advanced <strong>High</strong>ers. In<br />

discussion this concern was balanced against the desire for pupils to develop greater<br />

independent study skills in preparation for University.<br />

5. Parents Evenings<br />

It was agreed that Parents / Guardians should be surveyed about the format of Parents<br />

Evenings for session 2010-2011.<br />

6. Pupil Representatives<br />

With both pupil representatives unable to attend, no issues were raised.<br />

7. Fundraising<br />

It was agreed that the proceeds of the Christmas bag-packing event at the local supermarket<br />

would be split between the school fund and those pupils raising money for the Malawi trip.
