2 Alternatives Considered 2.1 Site Selection © Green Cat Renewables Ltd GLENLORA WIND TURBINE Our client, Mr Tom Coakley is currently involved in a number of renewable energy developments across the South Lanarkshire and <strong>Renfrewshire</strong> <strong>Council</strong> areas. He is keen to diversify to wind generation in order to provide an additional income stream to help offset fluctuations in energy prices incurred in the running of the estate as well as reduce the ‘carbon footprint’ of current operations. The key factors used to assess the site are listed below. Figure 2.1.1 Initial scoping layout The landholding and initial scoping layout, shown in Figure 2.1.1 above, was subjected to a rigorous screening process which considered: Wind resource Noise Access Ecology Cultural heritage Electromagnetic interference Wind Resource The proposed turbine was designed to respect the environmental constraints identified and also to allow the turbine to operate as ‘efficiently’ as possible.
