Here bought by butcher Kallesøe. Sold by his widow in
the 1940ies. Mrs. Alice Reyn, (née Lønberg) (1953), the
estate auction, ABR 517, 1988 no. 25.
The Golden Age painter Christen Købke was a Copenhagener
born and bred, he preferred to paint near his
home instead of the distant world. Købke created a
rather romantic setting with a delicate colour scheme
in his many landscape studies painted in the outskirts
of Copenhagen. As in this fine painting.
