Rally Car. More recently, the company has produced
chassis and running gear components for several cars
in the Championnat de France Supertourisme, including
the Ford Mondeo, Opel Astra, Leon et Toledo, Nissan
Primera and Citroen Xsara.
So far this year, the company has been busy
manufacturing chassis components for cars competing
in the seventh edition of the Trophée Andros, this year
held at Sherbrooke in Canada, and contested by ice
racing’s most famous drivers, including Frank Lagorce,
Philippe de Korsak and Jean-Luc Pailler. Cars featuring
Tork components included the Opel Astra, Kia Rio, Seat
Leon, Ford Mondeo and Fiat Stilo.
The fact may have been lost on the 7 000 spectators,
but a small French engineering firm shared the Fiat’s
victory celebrations that day. Away from the noise and
excitement of the track, the engineers at Tork quietly
congratulated themselves and carried on building
winning race cars.
